...so is good news from a far country.
As our team visited a village last night for kids club, I looked around at the children, elderly, parents, and teens watching Sam's "magic show" in rapt attention. Their curiosity about his little show and Jesus was evident on their faces. The thought struck me that these were no longer the pictures I had looked at for years and for years longed to go there - but this was real. These were real people with real needs searching for a real and living God amongst their millions of gods.
It is hard to believe we have been here a week - time has gone by so fast! It feels wonderful to be over jet lag and have energy! I'm loving this place - and I'm loving the dear people we daily interact with.
Yesterday was our second and last day at the English center. Working with the two young teen girls there has been a highlight so far! It was fun to find things we had in common as we worked with them on their English...and I pray they saw Jesus love.
This week we have mostly worked with children - playing with them, smiling at them, using signs and wonders, giving hugs, and attempting a few brave words now and then =D They are so precious! The life that many of them live is hard for me to put my mind around...but those who know Jesus have a hope that many of their parents did not.
Please continue to pray.Next week we have two medical camps. But I know the enemy would love to do whatever he can to keep us from giving Jesus our all.
As we sang "He is Here" to a group of Christian/Hindu students yesterday the words to the song "He is here, you can touch Him, you will never be the same." gave me goose bumps. =) They may have not understood our words, or realized its impact on their lives. But just that He was present was enough for me. The presence and name of the Living God was being spoken to lives that do not know Him...He was there. And when they do reach out to touch Him their lives will be totally different than it ever was before. That is true for each one of us who have been with Jesus.
Reach out and touch Him today! <><
sounds like an exciting time. May the Lord continue to protect, guide your time there. We know you are a blessing to those you meet. We are praying for you. The Bacher's
