Thought I could use my blog to promote some of the excellent teachers and messages I have sat under at IGo. These are two that were very timely and challenging to me. They are well worth your listening ear!

Joseph's life seemed to be one hard time after another. When most people would have given up on God and given in to bitterness and anger, Joseph stayed true and faithful. What enabled Joseph to continue on in faithfulness through the difficulties and unknowns in his life? - He never took the place of God. Joseph had two foundational beliefs that carried him through and enabled him to stay in his place and keep God in His rightful place.

Often God will take us through wilderness wonderings. Before God entrusts a great work for His glory to us, He will try us and test us to see if we are really all about His glory. It may take 10 years or longer for us to faithfully follow God through the trying times. Are you ready to enroll?

My Bookshelf: 


One of my favorite books this past term was Jesus Among other Gods by Ravi Zacharias. It is true to Ravi Zacharias' depth and knowledge - but an awesome book. I want to give it a "good read" when I have the time in life and am not reading four other books. Here are a few of the things that are highlighted in my book:

• Life is meant to be lived with the fulfillment of the one need that defines all other means of fulfillment and the one love that defines all other loves.

• Teaching is like a mirror. It can show you if your face is dirty, but the mirror will not wash your face.

• Goodness can endure a few moments; holiness is life-defining.

• Worship is a posture of life that takes as its primary purpose the understanding of what it really means to love and revere God. It is the most sacred intimacy of all.

• Those who understand the depth of what Communion means understand the fulfillment of worship.

• Love can only be what it was meant to be when it is wedded first to the sacred. Sacredness means separateness. Holiness beckons not just to love but moves in increments till it is climaxed in worship.
